The Baby's Room

Well we find that we are a little off on the amount of time it takes to complete projects when it comes to our new home. We began the process of the baby's room by prying off red chair rail off the grayish blueish wall (the same color that was on most of the house walls). Then we stripped off the wainscoting of wall paper (fish). Then last weekend we began taking doors off, pulling out the old blinds, and finally began painting. This painting project is something neither one of us quite knew if we could handle. It is certainly the most adventurous painting project either of us had taken on. However we feel we've become painting pros (we like to say) as we've painted 13 rooms in our new home so far. (and yes we still have one left :() anyway I love the way it came out, really just as I imagined it. I've had the paint picked out since we purchased the home a little over one month ago. Ryan was totally on board with the idea even though he knew it would be difficult. I love him for that, he is so supportive of all my ideas for the house. We have the same style, so it works out great for us, no arguing :) I wish I had taken pics of the room before we started but I didn't realize until the first coats of paint had already been applied. After the paint we put up new chair rail, and at this point we still have to install the new blinds and fan, but here's some pics of the progress so far.

I've wanted this book for months

I checked the mail today to find a great surprise. My sister in law sent me two books. I told Ryan right after I found out I was pregnant that I wanted to get Jenny McCarthy's book. I heard it was really good. For some reason I never did get it, so I was so excited to see these. Thanks Trish I can't wait to read them!

Bells Birthday at 27 Weeks

Yesterday was my birthday. Ryan planned a small dinner party and made my favorite meal. We had a great time amazing food (delicious cake) and good conversation. It was our first time having anyone over in our new home. It felt so comfortable.

The house has been coming along very well and are near done (with what we will be doing at this time) with the downstairs. We will be painting the Babbies room this weekend, so I've very excited about that. Ill take photos soon and get them up here.

Baby news: Not much to mention. He moves around a lot. His kicks are getting very strong but don't hurt yet. The other day he kicked so hard I jumped it scared me so bad. I laugh a lot when he gets really excited and my belly moves so much. We're in the good stage I think. My energy is a little better (if I don't overdo it) and I 'm feeling really well. I can't imagine my belly being able to get any bigger but it seams to everyday. I feel HUGE already. Ryan loves it, he can't keep his hands off it. He thinks i look so cute which is good because I really don't feel like it at all. Our next Dr. Apt is tomorrow so if we find anything out I'll write an update.

I'm going to try to get better about keeping everyone posted things have just been really hectic lately. Working on the house and then we made an unexpected trip to Mom and Dad's in Idaho. Hopefully things will calm down soon but I think that's just wishful thinking....I'm sure it won't happen for at least 18 years at this point. We're trying to get ready for it though. Its been quite a ride so far, and we haven't even got to the good part yet.

Ryan's 31st

Well two days after moving to our new home, we celebrated Ryan's Birthday. He usually hates people making a fuss over his birthday but this year he was a good sport about it. We had a great dinner and cake, and he liked all of his presents.

Auntie Jo sent two boxes up of baby presents that we received that day too. Everything is soooo cute. Look at these little Vans, and those overalls are to die for! THANX Auntie Jo!

A Few Words

Well I've been thinking a lot about how my life is changing and wanted to sit down and write something about what has been going on. Last weekend we went to a few garage sales looking for great deals on baby items. We did find a portable baby swing (not what i'd pick but a good back up none the less) and a monitor system. When we got home Ryan and I got to play "walkie-talkie" throughout the house testing out the new monitor. You know thinking about it they really are fun inventions. How is it that it's so much more fun to talk to eachother (no matter you're age) when in a different room? Anyway then Ryan set up the Portable swing in the living room.....and it hit me all night while I stared at the swing, this is really happening. Our lives will never be the same. We have baby furniture in our house. I'm not sure why it was that moment. I thought it had sunk in. And I'm sure it will sink in many more times. But that night was...I don't know how to describe it. It was a wierd feeling. I thought that moment would come more when I felt the baby move or some monumental moment like that but nope it was a swing. After waking up the next morning all those fearful feelings had passed and since then I've been looking at it wishing I had the little person to put in it. The waiting is hard. I know we should be greatful for these two weeks of nothing to do, because after that we're going and I don't see the end. In two weeks we'll know the sex of the baby (finally) and that means shopping can finally start. Two days after that we close on the house and that means moving can begin, carpet replaced, painting can be done and of coarse the baby's room. I'm pretty sure that's going to take us at least until Oct. So we should be glad about this little break of nothing planned, but it's hard to sit and wait. On to other things, I can feel the baby now, it moves a lot in the morning and right before bed (still not strong enough to keep me up at night) but every time I put my hand down to feel it, it stops moving, so up until now I've only felf it from the inside. Which means Ryan hasn't gotten to yet. And last week I grew at a rapid rate. The most noticable so far. I'm now in Maternity pants, but still wearing my own tops for now. Anyone who thought I was busty before you should see me now :)

NYC

Well we finally made it, I have wanted to go to New York for as long as I can remember and we did it. It was an incredible trip. We stayed with Robert and Sophie and I really felt we got the true NY experience. We saw everything like a real tourist, Fifth Avenue, Central Park, Times Square, Ellis Island, the Statue of Liberty, Staten Island, Brooklyn, but also got to see places we never would have if not for our fabulous local tour guides. And the food...amazing. I finally got to go to a real coffee cafe, you know where they serve you in a real cup not paper. Saw Carrie Bradshaw's apt, and the friends building. OK too much to mention it was so.......words cannot describe. It meant the world to me. Thank you to Ryan for taking me, and a huge thanks to Rob and Sophie without them it never would have been possible. I can't wait to get back.

Oregon Fishing!

Yesterday we went Sturgeon Fishing. Today we're exhausted. It was indescribable. Ryan and I got up at 2:30a.m, left the house by 3:30(after I had put on 2 stocking caps and a hat, 1 long sleeve undershirt, 1 thermal,1 reg shirt, 1 sweatshirt, stretch pants, jeans, 2 pairs of socks, furry boots, 1 scarf, and 1 coat) and drove to Portland to meet up with Peter our Fishing guide. We met at the dock at 6:00, and we were fishing in the Willamette River by 6:30. The first catch was Ryan's a 45in 25lb fish. My first one was much smaller, and left me wondering how great the fishing would really be. But they just kept coming. By the end of the day (1:30 when we were both half dead) we hauled in some 40 fish. Ryans biggest being 55in and 60+lbs, My biggest... too big to pull in the boat, approx 70in and 70 to 75lbs. You can only keep one Sturgeon a day and it must be between 34 and 54in. We kept one had it prepared and brought it home. It was one fishing trip we will never forget.

Spring in Eugene

Spring is beautiful here. Everything flowers. I took a minute to take a few photos around the yard, to bring a little bit of spring to those living in the desert. Hope you enjoy! PS: The baby lambs are not in my yard, but thought they looked very cute on our drive last Saturday.

Oops there's more...

Baby news. The 17th was our last doctors apt, it went much faster than the first which was a relief and also a "Why did I have to come in here?" moment. But something really great did happen, we got to hear the heart beat. It was really amazing. And then a few days ago something else happened I got a belly. Talk about a wierd feeling, when you're stunned everytime you see your tummy, wierd. Heres a new photo:

UPDATE

OK, so I haven't been doing very well at keeping everyone informed. I've been blessed with morning sickness. (Which is a great reason for not blogging more often no matter what anyone says about you just have to sit at the computer instead of the couch. I got to say I pick the couch, and the Lemon Water, and the PSI Bracelets, and the Crackers, and the Heating Pad for my back.) So on top of everything else that is going on over here I'm a little backed up, on blogging, laundry, cleaning, grocery shopping, and even having enough energy to care about being so far behind. And I Don't Even Have the Baby Yet! Yes I realize my life is now so different and will never be quite so carefree as just a few short months ago. But do you know what the real amazing thing about all this is? As awful and miserable as I may sound, and it's all true, I have never been so happy in all my life. I may not have a pair of stilettos on, or my hair done, or even makeup on, but I am showered with love and belly kisses. I may not have many to talk to, but my conversations are filled with excitement, anticipation, and wonder. My life is different, but it is such a wonderful change I never thought I would enjoy.
So what have we been doing? This should get you caught up.
HOME SEARCHING......mostly. We are in need of finding the right house, and it has taken up most of my time spent away. I have seen nearly 80 homes in the last week and a half. We have found a couple good prospects and are waiting to hear on one we have an offer on. So cross your fingers for us. AUTO BUYING.....as most of you know, my car was not very baby friendly and a new one was in order. We traded a sporty convertible, for a four door, gas friendly, five passenger sedan. We bought a black Audi A4. This will be Ryan's primary vehicle to go to work in, and I will be driving the Tahoe to save on Gas. SELLING THE BOAT......Yep we no longer have it. It is a relief to have these things out of the way, if we could find the house our list of pre-baby chores would finally come to a close. Then we could start attacking an actual list of baby items :) And That's All Folks

A few weeks ago Ryan and I went to the Big Island of Hawaii. We got to relax, and do some things I had only ever dreamed about. While we were there staying with Mom and Dad, the goat had a baby, there was a horrific rain storm and we had to walk through a newly formed river to get back to our cabin, and last but not least we got to swim with the Spinner Dolphins, something I have wanted to do my entire life. It was an interesting week and one we will never forget.

The First Purchase

Ryan just couldn't help it. He brought home a baby carrier for the bikes. It was pretty cute watching him check it out.
