We can finally call ourselves Americans

Greg and Emily invited us to an Oregon vs. Oregon State Baseball game.  Ryan and I had never been to a "real" baseball game before.  It was so fun.  They had a box that was catered, with indoor outdoor seating.  The set up made it very convenient for the babies, and adults.  Ryan got to have his hot dog and I got to wave around a big green and yellow foam finger (until it scarred Jackson), and we finally figured out the hot chocolate machine, which was a great way to finish off the night.  Everyone was so sweet, we had a really good time.

Greg went to Oregon State, so we'll work on turning Maddie into a Duck later

A Sunny Day

Sunday Ryan had plans to go fishing with a a friend. It was a beautiful day so I decided to take Jackson to the beach.  Luckily for us Rebecca, Nick and Juliet decided to join us.  What a fabulous day.  I got a baby sand kit, and the kids dug in.  We had a picnic lunch, and watched as the kids ingested what would probably be considered to much sand.  But they really enjoyed it and so did we.  we finished off the day strolling the shops in Old Town and stopped at BJ's for an ice cream cone before heading home.  Thanks Malick's for spending this sunny day with us.

Happy Birthday Emily

Emily turned 30 and invited us all to celebrate.  We had delicious food, and yummy cake, the kids played on the floor, and the adults had good conversation, it was a really fun night.  Then on Saturday, the girls left the babies with their Daddy's and we went to "Emily's Portland."  We had lunch, shopped, and walked around the areas she used to live in.  I have to say her Portland is much more beautiful than the Portland Ryan and I visited, however I'm glad we never saw it before, we would have moved there, and never met the wonderful friends we have here.  Amazing how it all works out.  I'm so lucky to have these girls in my life.  Happy Birthday Emmy!

A walk in the park

9 Years

On April 14th we celebrated our nine year wedding anniversary by finally finishing our bedroom.  We went shopping for art work, shelves and decorations.  I made the arrangements, Ryan mounted the television and hung the shelves. We went fabric shopping and I made the closet curtins.  The project was Ryan's idea, which made it extra fun, and he actually picked out  a lot of the pieces.  It was really nice doing it together, because in the end we both felt like the space was totally ours, and exactly what we wanted.  It is calm yet vibrant, just wonderful.

For dinner we went to Kings Estate.  We got to get dressed up, which is rare for where we live, so I was very excited about that.  We dropped Jackson off at Emily's on the way, and when we got to the winery there was no one in the parking lot.  However it was pouring rain, the middle of the week, and it is in the middle of nowhere.  We were totally wierded out at first, but as the night wore on it became better and better.  It was really amazing having the entire place just catering you you.  It was a gorgeous setting, we didn't have to feel overdressed, and it was quiet enough to hear the conversation.  By the end of it we were very comfortable and felt like celebrities who had rented the whole winery out for us to have dinner.  It was amazing.

Aunt Cathy's Birthday

On Aunt Cathy's Birthday, the sisters got together and went to lunch.  (I'm still waiting for someone to email me pictures of that :)  Then we took the kids to the park.  I took Jackson down the slide for the first time, I don't think I've ever been so scarred on a slide I was so worried I would drop him or something.  Which I know is totally retarded the slide is like two feet long.  But somehow it didn't matter, Ryan was taking the pictures and you can even see on Jackson's face he is like what's the big deal mom.  Ha Ha

After we went to the park we had Cake with the family and then headed back to Vegas to catch our flight home.

It was such a short trip, we didn't get to see everyone we had wanted to.  Again I'm sorry to those of you we missed.  And to those of you we did see, we really enjoyed our visit.  Thanks to everyone who fed us, took time out of their busy lives, traveled to St. George, and visited with us.  We love you all so much, and I'm really glad Jackson got to meet so much of his family.
