Baby Shower Day July 26th

It started out calm, we had breakfast, just like a normal day......and then....... We had a faucet we needed to change out in the half bath downstairs. Ila volunteered Robert for the job due to his previous experience as a maintenance man while going to BYU. He began the project at about 10:00a.m. I stopped him while still reading the directions and asked several times, if everyone was sure this was not going to be a difficult project as we had about 30 people coming and that would be the bathroom of convenience. No big deal well get it done, was the reply.
Well as we've seen in home ownership projects, nothing is quite what it seams.
The next thing i know the whole sink has to come out, but wait it's stuck, not for long Ryan to the rescue...oops now its in two pieces. Now we have a bathroom with no sink and the shower starts in about 2hrs. To top it all off the temperature is rising. An unusual heat wave is passing though Oregon and our house has no AC. Stressful? Just a little bit. To make a long story short, we went to the store bought a new sink, and Robert finished the installation about 5 min before the party started (no joke)So It's about 3:15 the Baby Shower is set to start at 3:30 and Tanya and Angie(the girls throwing the shower aren't here, there is no decorations, I have no idea what the food situation is, or what the plan is for the entire party. Thank goodness, Angie arrived in time we all hurried with the decorations, and food table and everything was ready when the guests started to arrive. Funny how everything just comes together. The party was a huge success. Everyone had a great time. we payed a couple of games, ate, opened presents, (even Lilly and Suni got a few from Aunt Carly,) and had a lot of great conversation. Several of our new neighbors came, so it was a great opportunity to talk with them, and with the portable AC unit we kept in the living room, it wasn't even THAT hot. Thank you so much to Tanya and Angie for throwing us such a wonderful party. It was definitely a day that started out rough and ended better than any of us could have imagined. It was Perfect!

Ryan's Parents visit

Ryan's parents came up from St George the Thursday before the baby shower so we finally got to show off the house and town where we now live. Randy came with them and Robert flew in the next day. We went to Seaside, Astoria, and Florence. They got to see the Columbia River and the Ocean (It was Randy's first time to the beach). Everyone had great time.
Me and randy showed off our belly's which was pretty hilarious.

A Very Personal Gift

This is an amazing gift we will cherish forever. My very talented niece Star painted our baby a picture....yes she really painted that herself. AMAZING! It is so cute and I can't wait to put it up in his room. She also squeezed in enough time from her artwork to make him a little hat as well. These presents mean so much to us and I can't say thank you enough. Star your amazing! THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU

More Presents....What a loved little boy

OK I was going to wait and open it at my baby shower, but as i was getting the room a little put together today (as much as one can with out any furniture) I couldn't help but unpack the bag. While I was in Idaho my sister Cathy sent up a ton of presents. Everything is so cute. There's an adorable mobile (dogs our love) in brown and white...so cute. These soft blankets and a few necessities, every parent needs. Thank you so much we love every piece.

The Baby's Room

Well we find that we are a little off on the amount of time it takes to complete projects when it comes to our new home. We began the process of the baby's room by prying off red chair rail off the grayish blueish wall (the same color that was on most of the house walls). Then we stripped off the wainscoting of wall paper (fish). Then last weekend we began taking doors off, pulling out the old blinds, and finally began painting. This painting project is something neither one of us quite knew if we could handle. It is certainly the most adventurous painting project either of us had taken on. However we feel we've become painting pros (we like to say) as we've painted 13 rooms in our new home so far. (and yes we still have one left :() anyway I love the way it came out, really just as I imagined it. I've had the paint picked out since we purchased the home a little over one month ago. Ryan was totally on board with the idea even though he knew it would be difficult. I love him for that, he is so supportive of all my ideas for the house. We have the same style, so it works out great for us, no arguing :) I wish I had taken pics of the room before we started but I didn't realize until the first coats of paint had already been applied. After the paint we put up new chair rail, and at this point we still have to install the new blinds and fan, but here's some pics of the progress so far.

I've wanted this book for months

I checked the mail today to find a great surprise. My sister in law sent me two books. I told Ryan right after I found out I was pregnant that I wanted to get Jenny McCarthy's book. I heard it was really good. For some reason I never did get it, so I was so excited to see these. Thanks Trish I can't wait to read them!

Bells Birthday at 27 Weeks

Yesterday was my birthday. Ryan planned a small dinner party and made my favorite meal. We had a great time amazing food (delicious cake) and good conversation. It was our first time having anyone over in our new home. It felt so comfortable.

The house has been coming along very well and are near done (with what we will be doing at this time) with the downstairs. We will be painting the Babbies room this weekend, so I've very excited about that. Ill take photos soon and get them up here.

Baby news: Not much to mention. He moves around a lot. His kicks are getting very strong but don't hurt yet. The other day he kicked so hard I jumped it scared me so bad. I laugh a lot when he gets really excited and my belly moves so much. We're in the good stage I think. My energy is a little better (if I don't overdo it) and I 'm feeling really well. I can't imagine my belly being able to get any bigger but it seams to everyday. I feel HUGE already. Ryan loves it, he can't keep his hands off it. He thinks i look so cute which is good because I really don't feel like it at all. Our next Dr. Apt is tomorrow so if we find anything out I'll write an update.

I'm going to try to get better about keeping everyone posted things have just been really hectic lately. Working on the house and then we made an unexpected trip to Mom and Dad's in Idaho. Hopefully things will calm down soon but I think that's just wishful thinking....I'm sure it won't happen for at least 18 years at this point. We're trying to get ready for it though. Its been quite a ride so far, and we haven't even got to the good part yet.
